DIY Pinecone Christmas Wreath

We take our dog Kallie to this beautiful dog park any time its above 30 degrees outside. We are currently in Minnesota and it is COLD. But gorgeous! There’s so many giant pinecones everywhere and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to DIY something pretty!

Wanting to bring some Christmas cheer to our front door, I decided a Christmas Wreath would be the perfect addition.

All you need is:

  • Pinecones
  • Base for wreath
  • Hot glue gun
  • Decorations
  • Wreath hanger
Everything you need

You can source your pinecones locally at your nearest park or buy them from the store. The base I have for my wreath was a $1 at dollar tree in the gardening section but you can purchase a wire wreath form at Walmart for $3. You need the hot glue gun to hold the pinecones together. And any decorations you wish to add into your wreath! The pine needle leaves were locally sourced and everything in total was under $10.

Use the skinnier pine cones to fill in the center. Once the inside is covered, start building on the face of the base. Try to watch for empty space and fill that in the best you can. If you can’t – DON’T PANIC! I have a plan! Once that layer is done, now move to the top, add a few more for volume if desired.

Time for my grand plan… decorations! Add in your pine needle leaves, cranberries, sparkles and super sparkly Christmas ornament into any empty space and anywhere else that needs a little jazz! Try to spread it out evenly. I decided to remove some cranberries individually and glue those onto the pinecone stems.

And there you have it 😊 A $10 DIY pinecone Christmas wreath that you can  be oh so proud of!

I hope this project gets you in the Christmas spirit πŸŽ„ May your holiday be filled with so much love, laughter, joy and surprises!

Happy Holidays and Merry

Christmas everyone!
